Keep track of bound instances
« on: November 02, 2009, 10:52:42 am »
Hi there!

I was discussing Age of Conan raid instances with guild members yesterday, and we were wondering if there was any possibility to make the bot help us out a bit.

Most of us have several level 80 characters, that regularly go on raids. After a while it becomes a bit tricky to remember which character is bound on which raiding instance, and you can only do each instance once a week.
Currently everyone basically writes this down - we would like it if this could go in a table via the bot.
The bot wouldn't actually have to look up anything - we can add the instance names ourselves.
What you could then do is, as soon as you complete raiding on any given character, you type something like

!bound vistrix

To register that you've done that instance on that character.

All bounds are reset every Tuesday, it would be perfect if the "bound" part of the table could be cleared atomatically, but of course an admin could to that as well with another command.

Commands that would be useful are:

* Add instance to instance list (admin)
* Remove instance from instance list (admin)
* Set user X as bound on instance Y (admin)
* Remove user X as bound on instance Y (admin)
* Set me as bound on instance Y (everyone)
* Remove me as bound on instance Y (everyone)
* Display list of all users and their bounds (everyone)
* Remove all bounds (admin)

I don't know how complex this would be, but since the bot would not be retrieving any data I was hoping it would not be too difficult.

Is this something someone would be willing to look into?

Thanks in advance!

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
- Sorry, i dont have time to reply question on PM. Make a topic.
