changing bot name
« on: September 26, 2007, 06:07:51 pm »
We want to change the toon that bot uses and with v2.11 of the bot this wasn't an issue but I noticed with v4 that the mysql tables have the bot name in them. So if I change toons will the bot loose all of the DB info? or do I just need to go in an manually change the table names?

well, you juat have to make a new toon, and log on to that account,

edit the file: "xx\conf\Bot.conf"  the line you need to edit is:
Code: [Select]
$bot_name = "name";
instead of name insert the new toon name.

the change of botname should not effect the sql database.

You can just rename the master table I think, should be enough.

Another way is to set mastertablename and prefix in the MySQL.conf to the values used in the old bot (oldbot_tablenames and oldbot). Should work too.

Or rename all tables and let the bot create a new mastertable, won't cause any problems if you are using the default table names.

ok I got the bot moved and the tables are all good.. only issue I am having now is the bot won't see anyone online.

Is there anyway to force a roster update?

That only works in the trunk version.

/tell botname !set members LastRosterUpdate 1 and then restart the bot.
