Ok, this one i REALLY have no clue about.

I want Bebot to login to phpBB to retrieve a page on the member sections which i can then parse for infomation that i need.

Had it just been a freely available page i would have no problem in making this work, so the problem for me lies in making it access the members area and fetching the page there.

It think it must be done by the means of some "form" as the standard login:[email protected] does not work.

Hope someone outthere got some input on this one

You'll probably need to get your username/pass for the forums database, assuming thats available, then go into your forums database, grab the posts in that specific topic, and parse that information. Its definitely possible. If you don't have the database information, you're going to have a lot more trouble getting the forum to give out the information you want.

Let me know which situation you're faced with I can TRY to help. I'm sure someone here is smart enough.

What im trying to do is making the bot go into our guilds forum (which is phpBB) and grab a page from the members section so i can parse that.
Got everything but the knowledge of how to login through Bebot.

Maybe i can get access directly to the DB, ill have to check what type phpBB uses to store posts.

phpBB most commonly uses MySQL. Amona once wrote an IGN plugin that could display information from the official AO forums as well as a modified version for phpBB2, but they could only display what you could get access to without being logged into the forums.

Beaker has code in guildbot that is able to notify the org channel on a new phpBB post, but I don't know if it's part of the official helpbot code or the version that is customized for Sents.

Your best bet would be to run phpBB and BeBot on the same machine and write a plugin that can query the phpBB database.

this is what i do, i got bot on the same machine as webserver + mysql.
i made a web interface to bot that allows org members to talk and read org channels via web browser (from work) hehe

Yeah that is what i would do but i don't run the forums only the bot

But ohh well, guess im gonna have to push this to the bottom of the todo list until i maybe come up with a solution for it.
