for those with guild bot... how it works
« on: January 23, 2006, 02:07:11 am »
how does raids work on guildbots? do you have to join the privategroup to join a raid?

can people on the privategroup read the guild channel?

is there a reason for some commands to work on privategroup but not on guildchat?

Yes, if bot is ran as a guildbot the members have to join the private channel to join a started raid.
And yes you can see guild chat echo'd in the private channel if relay is on. Just do !relay to toggle on or off.

would you rather keep it that way or have the raid system use the guildchat in case its a guildbot?

my guild doesn't use the raid system so i have no idea. in fact i have all those commands and modules disabled.

my guild uses a "need before greed" loot distribution system, so there is no need for points or organized raffles/raids.

sorry i'd love to help you test, but i have nothing to test with ;)

I decided to run a seperate bot for raidbot, that way I can costumize both bots (org bot is already highly customized). So if you're able to run a second, it's more practical, and the guestchannel can remain a way for outside people to talk to the org.
Too many toons.

Same here, we use a different bot for org raids sometimes. Otherwise we don't bother with a Raid bot for Org raids. We use my Ventrillo server instead during the raid.  ;)
Also we have alot of guests that wander in and out of our Org Bot private channel so relay is always on. Gets rather spammy if the relay is on for Guests and your doing a raid at the same time using the Bot.

I dont know about yall but in the Raidsingle/Raidtimer.php if u modify the commands a little bit u can make it all go into Guild Chat

To do so
go to the Replace command

Search for : Send_pgroup
Replace with: Send_gc

Search for: pgmsg
Replace with : gc

replace all for both and now all commands and output will be ran threw the guild chat... (this modification can be applyed to almost all modules always remember to save/rename a copy of the original incase u break it)
