[2008-07-30 15:24:47] [TELL] [OUT] -> Khami: Baka is a level 15 Bear Shaman :: [link]Details[/link]
[2008-07-30 15:24:51] [TELL] [INC] Khami: is baka
[2008-07-30 15:24:51] [BUDDY] [BUDDY-ADD] Baka
[2008-07-30 15:25:08] [TELL] [OUT] -> Khami: Baka is Offline
WARNING: The following entries timed out: Baka.
when i want to try if somebody out of guild is online, then on first tell bot stays quiet and on second status is Unknown. 'Is' command ends timeouted.

Where can be problem?

do !member add <name> first and then maybe a !rosterupdate (Might not need that).

Then add them as a guest to the bot.  If you lookup the syntax for !member I'm sure it will tell you how.

??? so you are telling me that if anyone in guild wants to check status of anyone out of guild he need to add him as guest to bot first? thats a bit stupid behavior  :o

The status lookup works fine if that person is online, but if he is offline, it gets timeouted

If someone wants to know if someone is online, add them as a friend.

As far as the bot, it seems there might be a bug, I'm not sure as I don't work on the source files.  I haven't ran into your problem cause I don't lookup people outside my guild. Sorry I couldn't help.

I don't have many problems with the whois command.

If it is the first time that person is looked for sometimes it does not find them right away, other times it will.

Second, third, 10th time it has no issues.

The first time someone is searched for it automatically adds them as anonymous access so it can search them quicker next time

I was playing around with this tonight, and I thought when you added alts and you did a whois it would show if they were online on an alt.  Now it does not.  Was it always this way?  And if so is there anyway to get this added so it will show if someone is online via an alt in the whois command without clicking on the details tab?

That I was having problems with as well and my personnel officer fixed it by doing !member add <AltName> on each of the alts in the guild.

thats what I am talking about. I have to clik details and there is "status: Unknown" so no info at all. Why is not !Whois command working on first use, why is !is command timeouting ?

you know. I cant ask officers to add mine enemys or groupmates into bot anytime I need.
Vhabs library had no problem with lookups even on offline nonguild members, so there must be something "wrong" in bebot code.

I've just added a fix for the "Unknown" whois status to the SVN.  When updated it may take up to 24 hours (or the TimeValid setting for your bot) to take full effect due to the database cache.
