multiple bots on one account (aoc)
« on: July 04, 2009, 10:46:02 pm »
I'm working on setting up a relay for multiple guild bots to connect to from different guilds. I have my guilds bot running on my account and the fact that the server keeps disconnecting me and i have to wait for the bot to log in and then log myself back on is not good.

Now when i want to run the relaybot on the same account (different character ofc) i get more disconnects and i have to turn off the relaybot, wait until the other bot is finished (5min) and then start it. Wait 5 min and log on myself!

This is not a good way at all!

Is there any way to this better?

The goal is that my guild, and 3 others can connect our bots to relay messages between each other.

From what i understand having read the updates from FC and how the new changes work, they have made it rather unpleasant for bot owners to run bots in AoC.

The problem it seems comes from the fact that you no longer only connect to the chat server, but the bots actually connect to the gameserver until they time out.

It appears that unless Funcom makes any changes to make life easier, this is how it will be unfortunately :(

after i tried adding the relay my bot is crashin as soon as it posts in guild chat that it is online, or when someone talks in guild chat.

EOF something

Why does this happen now, when i have had my bot running just fine right before?

Where does the bot store the relay settings?

I have replaces the relay.php with a backup a made before the changes!

EDIT:

The bot is as unstable as a monkey with a banana!

Now it works again, i haven't done anything

Relaying through privategroups are bad at the moment - since Privategroups seems to auto disconnect you from the chatserver. I guess FC have removed the support for it and barf when it doesn't understand what you are trying to do.
