command window - unable to find StartBot.php file
« on: August 10, 2012, 09:04:19 am »
I'm almost positive I've got everything set up right.  Followed the instructions and got to the point where i just need to start the bot.  However it won't work.

I'm using Windows 7.

Quote
Open a console (In windows press “Start” ? “Run” ? enter “cmd” and press enter).
Now run the start.php
Windows: Navigate to the directory of your bot assuming you have the php.exe in the same directory and write “php start.php”.

got the command window open no problem.  The StartBot.php (it's not called start.php) file is in a folder called 'Bot' in my C drive.  So to run the start.php, I typed C:/Bot/php StartBot.php and I get the error that the system cannot find the file.

What am I doing wrong?  I've checked upper/lower case.  I've checked the path. I've googled it so much I can't see any new sites to look at.  But I can't get it.

Any help?  And please - I'm a noob at this so speak slowly. :p

I suggest you cd to c:\bot before running startbot.bat (you are on windows, so this is the proper command).

Well I got to the c:\bot just fine, but any time I tried to start the php or the bat file, neither would work.  I kept getting some kind of 'stty' password error or something.  No screenshot so I can't remember exactly what it said. :(

Any logs you can find would help...

Try this:

1. open an administrative cmd window (Right-click on "All Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt" and run as administrator.
In the window... Type:
2. C:\
3. cd C:\bot
4. php -f StartBot.php YourBotName
5. Capture the results and post here so we can see.

 :)
