Bot Crash Question
« on: April 16, 2009, 09:23:20 pm »
My raidbot died randomly today during an auction.  At the time of the crash the bot received about 10 incoming bids all at the same time.  So I think thats what caused the crash.

Just wondering, is there a way to get the bot to automatically restart if it crashes?

I'm loading the bot on unix in shell.

Thanks

If my bot crashes it does automatically restart. I thought this was pre-set in the bot instructions. Obviously if the bot crashes in a way to exit your command prompt for the bot then I don't think there would be a way to auto-restart.

Using the StartBot.php to launch the bot instead of directly calling Main.php the bot should automatically restart if it crashes.

I'm most interested in finding the reason for the crash however, and the bot's logs should contain the error it encountered causing the crash. If you where able to post it here or even more preferably submitt it as a bug report it would be most appreciated.

Do you have the last few entries prior to the crash? If you want to keep them out of public feel free to PM them to me.

Some random thoughts on the issue would be that the bot didn't actually crash, but the PHP processes (multiple, as there is one for StartBot.php and one for Main.php) being killed by the system.

Depending on if you have a custom php.ini or not, the errors would likely be logged in php's own error log.

Are there any specific php config requirements for the bot?

The strange thing is that we've done numerous raids before without the bot processes being killed and also the bot was up for a good 48 hours prior to that.
