Title: Downtime April 17th
Post by: Khalem on April 07, 2007, 03:14:16 pm
On Sunday April 8th we will be moving to a new and more powerful server due to the amazing growth of one of the sites hosted on the same server.
Downtime is planned to be aprox. 4 hours. The exact time is yet to be determined pending some last minute details.

SVN is hosted on a different server and will not be affected by this.

Update:
Due to some issues with the new hardware, the move looks to be delayed until Monday.

Update2:
Unfortunately there was some issues surrounding the SAS controller driver which caused delays. As a result the move will not take place until Friday or Saturday.

Update3:
Needless to say i'm at the point of hating everything and everyone right about now. But the move will take place later today. The downtime will hopefully be as short as possible, but starting around 16.00-17.00 CET (14.00-15.00 GMT/UTC) all of BeBot will be undergoing migration and might be unavailable at times. The downtime is scheduled to last for about 6 hours, though since there will be an IP move the actual effects might be felt a bit longer.

You couldn't do this on a day when people were at work now could you? (j/k)

Sounds great. Sometimes it takes ages for me to load a page. :)

Yeah i know. At times we have had server loads past 150 and pushing between half a million and one million pageviews per day on a single site.

You're absolutely right. I get

You tried to access the address http://bebot.link/index.php?action=search2, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.

Also the task manager and dokuwiki suddenly stopped working.

I am guessing that it worked yesterday because of my c(r)aching name server hadn't updated the IP associated with the page.

Wiki fixed, please note though that since the wiki was actually still operational at the time of the migration on the old server, anything submitted since the start of the migration could be lost.

I can't edit anything besides the start page in the wiki anymore.

And calling this (http://bebot.link/wiki/doku.php?id=flexible_security) gives me error messeges at the top

Wiki should be fully operational now.

I'm gonna try a temporary workaround for the search (and spell check) issues.

I don't get the errors anymore, but I still can't edit most pages in the wiki.
