Title: trying run bot through phpadmin on a site
Post by: Huesos on July 23, 2010, 06:55:54 pm
Is there a way to execute/run bot online? I have a server host with php and mysql (database and all). I just need to know how to get the files/bot running on the site now. Through phpadmin or sql buddy query I assume

No.

Most hosting services offer no shell access, nor do they have the PHP socket extention installed which is required for the bot to operate due to security reasons.

To run the bot you will need shell access, and permission from your host to run background processes, and have the PHP socket extention enabled.

Can I suggest adding this information to the front page? ;)

I'm renting a VPS at Gandi (http://www.gandi.net/) which does the trick.
