Title: MySQL tool for the command-line challenged
Post by: Zeephonz on September 20, 2010, 04:40:37 am
Hi All,

Yes not everyone is comfortable working in the world of the command-line, even less so when it extends to understand how to drive MySQL properly from that environment also.

If you are setting up a Bebot installation for the first time, or looking to manage it on an ongoing basis, and you really like buttons to press and dropdown menus, then after you have gone through Glarawyn's thread on installing MySQL for the first time, go and grab a copy of...

MySQL Workbench at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/5.2.html (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/5.2.html)

This will give you a full GUI interface for managing your Bebot MySQL databases, users, permissions, clean-up tools and backups etc.

I use a app called Toad for most of my DB work . Plugs into most Databases .. I manage an Oracle and MS SQL at work so this helps .
