« on: February 17, 2010, 09:10:38 pm »
is it a simple matter to relay the !onlline command in a relay setup

org1, org2, and realay bot

wanting for org1 or 2 to be able to do !online and see all on in both orgs. all three bots are remotely hosted, is there a setting for this? thx

Hey lord,

You can set a list of otherbots for the online command to check.

Code: [Select]
/tell yourbot !set online OtherBots bot1,bot2,bot3
Ofc this means that "yourbot" must have the permissions to do an !online in the other bots.

if I am not mistaken snarf, all the bots must be on the same db..

This is wrong.

The bots do NOT need to be using the same database unless you are using the DB relay method.

The bots send control info informing other bots in the relay about logons and logoffs as well as initial status.

that seems simple enough :)

define permissions, is the default of the relay, (all three bots are members of each other), for this permission to be active, or do i need another command on all the bots to relay this. also, by doing this will it show logons and off from both boths to both bots? ie, player1 logs on in bot1, shows that in bot2?

If the bots are members of each other that should be enough. Keep in mind none of these settings apply to the relay bot. That bot is simply a dummy bot passing the chat back and forth between the actual bots. So you don't have to change the online settings in the relay bot.

i did that command and the bot is still online, but its not working now, the relay is still working for the second bot, my bot that i issued that command to it doesnt work now, cant restart it or admin it at all, and normal function no longer works.

!set online OtherBots <other bot name>

i sent that command in a tel to my bot, but now my bot is completely unresposive to anything. what in the world happened. lol
i didnt get a return message, i didnt get an error or any type, the bot is online but it is dead to me atm. lol
