Title: !suspend comand???
Post by: Poonjab on July 10, 2009, 11:25:33 pm
Well I see there is a potential preliminary fix for bebot to start working in AoC again, and I've not yet had a chance to get home to set it up, but was wondering about one particular thing before I do that tonight.

In AoC there are times where we invite people from other guilds to our guild for a siege event that lasts a couple hours.  In the past I would just shut down the bot before we started inviting people to guild for the siege, but not with getting the bot back online being a little more of a hassle with having to have all my characters logged out before I do so, I'm wondering if it would be possible to get some kind of !suspend command that would make the bot stop listening for new players until I send it a private tell and told it otherwise?

Maybe there's already a way to do this and I just don't realize it.

Thanks.

You can pretty much just use the ban function to archieve what you want.
See "!help ban" for more information.

Example you could probably use:
!ban add Khalem 6h Temporary added to org for guild

Ban diseapears after 6 hours

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that I would be trying to block out a couple dozen people from being introduced to the bot for a 2 to 4 hour period.  Using a !ban command might be a little tedious.

Point taken.

Please head over to https://blueprints.launchpad.net/bebot and fill out a blueprint for a feature request there :)
