Title: central language file
Post by: lulifuz on January 06, 2007, 12:13:29 pm
Hi,

I thought abaout modifying the messages teh Bot sends. Mainly translating, maybe customising to our Org Lingo ^^.
But than I think updating to a new Bot Version would be a pain.
Would it be an Idea to have a central language firl where al the Bot massages are stored?
Than language modifications / custom Org Messages would be more easy and upgrading would also be simplified.

More coordination is needed, sure.

Just an idea ...

Regards,

Try using this:

Basically, by making the saying in the settings area, you can change what the bot says ingame/DB without the coding and !restart each time.

I honestly haven't looked into this, but it is of course possible to do.
The real question would be what kind of overhead it would add.
Also, the initial conversion of this would take some time since you would basically need to alter every single output string of the bot.
In addition to this there is also the help system which is planned to be moved into the modules themselves.
