Org Relaying
« on: August 29, 2008, 10:43:06 pm »
There has been lots of questions in and out of game about how to setup org bots to relay to each other.

This thread can be a one stop answer for many of those people and also a place were people can get their questions answered.

Please check out the wiki at http://bebot.link/wiki/org_relay before asking.  (This was based off the v0.5.3.svn but should work with any version that supports Pgroups)
If something that is missing please post it here and someone can add it to it.  Hopefully as the Bebot progress's so will all their help documents, this one included.

the only thing I can see that needs to be expanded is the 2 org tell system, and temar's new multidim/game DB edition.

well the tells, I know is pretty straightforward, limited to only being between two bots. The DB is something new, so not sure about that one yet...

the DB was desined to be setup pretty much the same way as pgroup (with out the relay bot)
it uses gcr access level to determin what to spam
and ofc all bots must be on Same DB

well have a question concerning the same db then...as I see it now, aoc and ao both use the alts table which is not prefexed for either game nor bot...so there is some confusion if you are running bot ao and aoc bots. (which I am...10 ao bots and one aoc bot)

personally i wouldnt use same DB for aoc and ao
then if i wanted to share a table between the 2 games i would change prefix used in table names eg relay would be set to use prefix AO_DB.
that would then use the relay table on the AO_DB Database
