[resolved] restoring db from crashed server

(1/1)

motoislo:
Hello bot masters,

I had bebot v0.4.3 setup using mysql. The computer died and no longer boots, but I have some of the data off the hdd, including all of the bebot files and a copy of the mysql directory.
Is there a way to "import" this data to a new install of mysql on another machine? I do not have a dump file because the computer no longer runs to create one. I installed mysql on the new machine and the bot is working, I just want to restore all the alts, news, ect. that was in the db.
If there is no way without the dump, I guess I can put the hdd (if it works x.x)in another computer and try and get it to boot, then dump the db.

Is that my only option?

Thanks,
Moto

Well the hdd is not bootable.   >:(
I am trying to repair the windows install, but I don't know how that will effect the sql already on it. What a day. I just got done rebuilding a carburator and was about to pull off a top end, now im stuck inside working on this mess.  :-X

I was able to repair the OS enough to get into sql and create a backup.sql file to restore from. So my problem is solved.

Still wondering if this is the only way to recover a database. So any info would be great.

Also, thanks for bebot and these forums, keep up the good work.  ;D
