Title: Help spam
Post by: jjones666 on June 15, 2006, 01:29:45 pm
There appears to be a limit to the number of commands can be used at one time.
Basically added a new module and it created huge spam in the !help command (infinite loop).
Deleted a few commands from the rights management for tells and it works fine now.

This is probably related to how the help module creates its list and overflows.

Personally i dont like the help display at all, and i belive that the function used to make sure blobs do not get overflowed might need a total cleanup.
Any takers?

Also, is there anyway to control how many lines per page is in the blob?  Somethings seem to use a full page, others half a page :-)

Cheers,

The blobsize is controlled by the max_blobsize in your Bot.conf. It works on the amount of data however, not lines. Reason being simply that the actual server limit works around amount of data. A single line can contain loads of data due to links etc aswell.

Explained perfectly.

Thank you!

A workaround for this issue has now been added to SVN pending Naturalistic's help rewrite.
