Title: Undefined variable problem
Post by: eracet1 on January 27, 2006, 04:03:32 pm
I have been working on getting bebot to run.
Now I am to a point where it tells me this in cmd:

Notice: Undefined variable: Revision in \bebot\main.php on line 20
AOChat class needs the Sockets extension to work

I looked up the sockets error in the forums and the link to more help is dead.
But trying to get this to go has been troublesome.

Any help that can be gave would be appreciated.

Are you using a windows box? If so you have to enable the sockets extension in the php.ini.
If you're using a linux box you have use a php compile with sockets enabled.

Yes it is ran in a window,
I searched the php.ini-recommended and did not see a line to enable sockets extension

The next version of BeBot will play a bit nicer out of the box on windows.
If you are feeling brave enough you could try grabbing the latest SVN version from the repository. ( http://svn.shadow-realm.org:7100/svn/BeBot/branches/0.2 )

Alternatively, use a webbrowser to download the following files from the repository:
start.bat
php.ini
php.exe
main.php
php_extension/ and all its contents

That should allow the bot to work out of the box on windows.
