Next Problem
« on: August 10, 2006, 04:58:15 pm »
So i finally have the bot configured (Testing when servers up) now i figure tomorrow i'll sort out this further but where/how can i keep my bot running all the time. I figured i'd need somewhere to host it. Is there a site or something that is easy to use to Upload your bot and it'll run it for you? (im not computer smart so go easy please). Thanks.

You mean never turn my computer off?
Ton of q's here:-

Do i have to manually add org members to the bot for it to recognize them and do the !whois and 'name' has logged on?

If i exit the running of the bot will it reset all logged info ?(eg members/news/ect) (if it does automatically pick these things up)

How do other orgs keep their bot running 24/7 is it just a computer left on all the time?

I cant leave mine on all the time will i have to find a friend who can do it for me?

More will come so i might edit this....

Is the items database automatically there and updated?

Is this path correct for storing log (i want to store in "log" file)
C:\Documents and Settings\Sxxxxx\Dxxxxx\cxxx\Ao bot\BeBot_v0.2.6\BeBot_v0.2.6\log

How do i add the items database to mysql database? Where is the items.sql file?

ok your computer will have to be on and runing the bebot for it to be working 24/7 so if you like turn off your pc no bot would no longer be on :P and you would have to restart it when you next turn it back on.

Now as for the memebrslist this is all saved into a database and if you restart or reboot what ever all this data is saved and nonethink will be losted this is the same for the news.

as for you can not leave your pc on all the time and will i find a freind to run it well that a question only you can reply to as I do not know your freinds.

o and the memberlist is updated by people talking in org chat as well as updated from the website by your ID number i belive you should not need to add anyone as for login messages this will happen as everyone in the database that logs in the bot will say they have will out any work being done.
