running into a problem with users table
« on: July 13, 2008, 04:14:01 pm »
Running a test bot on my account, but every time I try to adduser or such, it attempts to enter an entry to the users table, but with an empty char_id, and thus fails each time.

One thing I missed out on, was setting the $guild_id, but I have no idea how to go about that.

Ahhh did you add your guild to the bot.conf?

There was an update a few days ago maybe a week or so that you have to put in your guild name in the bot.conf file.  Mine was a little weird after the update and I had two places in my bot.conf to place in info.  One had the normal items, and down a few lines it said it again.  There is where it should say guild.

My suggestion would be to delete your bot.conf file and get the new SVN version.  Then enter your account/password/botname/guildname there.

edit: yeah and if you do delete/update your bot.conf file make sure you just rename the first one in case you need to go back to it for whatever reason.  Also Don't be like me and forget to put in your main account as the owner, so you can edit the settings  :)  took me a couple of days to figure out why I couldn't change any settings in the bot  :)

Aye I did.

How do we get the $guild_id in the bot.conf? I tried accessing the site listed in the readme, but it doesn't appear to exist anymore (and not really for AoC either)

mine is currently set to

  $guildbot = true;                // false if its a raidbot.
  $guild_id = 00000001;            // only if its a guildbot.

pretty sure it's default to that.
