Title: Noob question
Post by: crazybama on November 07, 2008, 03:24:21 am
Hello,

After I start the bot I get this error message. Any idea where I need to look?

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) i
n C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\Sources\MySQL.php on line 124
MySQL error (# 0) on query: Cannot connect to the database server!

looks like you dont have a database running on the same machine as the bot

you need to install MySQL Database and have it running

mysql is installed and running currently. I stopped and restarted the service succesfully. I am still getting the error message. Any ideas?

C:\Users\Corey>net stop mysql
The MySQL service is stopping..
The MySQL service was stopped successfully.

C:\Users\Corey>net start mysql
The MySQL service is starting.
The MySQL service was started successfully.

Open up port 3306 in your firewall? That's the default port anyway, if you changed it during installation it's something else.

Ok,

After hours of working on the bot I have it up and running in Age of Conan. I am having another prolbem though. The guild chat commands are not working for me or the guild members. its like the bot is not seeing anything. What settings should I look at?

Ok I fixed the last post. How do I get error messages from showing in guild chat?

For instance, If I want certain modules to respond to the guild member that posted the command to be in a tell vs. showing in the gild. If I type !roll 1 100 it shows an error in the guild. I would like to have that sent in a reply to the person who typed it in guild chat.

that will prob require changes to the error system if it uses the error system, some module handle there own error in that case its the module that says were to send the error
