Does anyone have a walkthrough on how to setup the IRC chat relay.
I have a basic understanding of IRC but I don't know what steps are needed to get the relay running.
-
I'd also like to know this please , sounds like a nice feature .

Basically you need to set the IRC server and channel.
/tell botname settings irc

It's a nice feature but if your users don't use IRC or don't know much about it, it's pretty much worthless in that respects.
Kardson, if you're still interested this evening let me know and I can walk you through the settings...in short you just have to set the server, but you'll need a valid IRC server to run on that doesn't mind the use of a bot :)

Note that Funcom actually has a official irc server you can setup a channel for your guild on.
irc.funcom.com

Hello, i have setup the bot with irc server(funcoms) and name and stuff, but he dont connect to the channel. He is connected to the irc network because i can see him with /whois in irc but he dont connect to the channel i specified :(
Anyway to force him into a channel?

Did you remember to add the hashmark in the channel name?
#channelname

Thanks but I figured it out.
I was looking in the code, trying to find out where you change it to your irc settings.
Then I started poking around with the ! commands in game and figured it out. :)
Anyhow, as far as your guildies not knowing how to use IRC....
Just install a Java Based chat client onto your website.
The one I'm using is called PJIRC.
There is a really easy to use PHP-Nuke plugin for it out there as well.
The PHP-Nuke module actually uses the persons login as the IRC username.
