Author Topic: Bot doesn't work if guild name and character name are the same? (Read 2925 times)

Not sure what's going on... I tried to create a character named Ekklesia (the guild is also named Ekklesia). The bot starts but doesn't seem to see any commands in guild chat, only tells. However when I do it with another character, it works fine. Is this normal?

Well, going into the Bot.conf and keeping everything the same but changing the char name to another character instead of one named the same as the guild and it works fine... :-/

Do you have to set the guild_id for AOC, I never did that... as I have no idea how or where to find it...

not 100% sure about AoC but guild ID was mainly used for Roster which doesnt even work for AoC far as i know
u say it work for other just not your char that that has same name as org, i cant think of why it would ignore a char based on the org name

The character doesn't have to be level 5 does it?

no, my bot character is lvl 1, never left the beach of tortage.

I can confirm that a bot with the same name as the guild, or even just part of the bots name being the same (Eldar -> Eldarbot) will make the bot unresponsive in the guild channel.

The bot still functions by tells, but will not detect anything in the guild channel.
