I'm curious - Can a module be created to allow the bot to accept group invites? or maybe send group requests? If so - then could it be set to auto disband after so many seconds?

If by groups you mean teams, no you can't.
If by groups you mean private channels, yes you can. But do note private channels are sort of disabled in the AoC client.

AoC Private Groups:

With the Game Client you Auto Leave any Private Group when joining
With Any Chat Client (not game) it works fine
