Title: Raid bot rosters etc
Post by: Allsopp on May 11, 2010, 06:06:45 pm
Ok we use our bot as a raid bot which works fine for tracking dkp etc but i was wondering would it be possible to use it like out guildbot with yg links stat conversions etc but to post the reply in global as if global was its guild channel?

of course if that was possible we'd have to turn sum features off like auto adding new players it see's etc

thanks in advance

Global has a limitation on the size of a blob that can be posted there, most bot functions that return a link will not work in global.

Also I think it more than likely that your account holding your bot will be banned pretty quickly if you're to respond to bot commands in global.

Why not just use tells for your raidbot (and yes you can put yg and most if not all modules here in your guildbot) I have yg and bound activated for a raidbot and it works fine.

Please note that the use of bots is technically against the EULA.

Funcom have tolerated bots because they recognize the value they provide to the community, but bots on public channels have been struck down harshly in the past.
Please don't ever attempt to output or take commands from global channels, as in the worst case you could end up causing Funcom to enforce the EULA across the board.
