Bot don't "read" Guild chat
« on: January 10, 2010, 06:45:55 pm »
I'm trying to setup a new bot, but I can't get it to add members or notice what is typed in guild chat.

It responds like it should to /tell

I see from the log that is don't get a user id, can that has something to do with the problem?

We got another bot and I have compared most settings, so really don't understand what is the problem. Anyone that can help?

Is he invited to the guild?
And did you check if you could talk to GC with gameclient before using bot against it?
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
- Sorry, i dont have time to reply question on PM. Make a topic.

yes the bot-char was invited as I could see it on the guild list.

I did level the bot-char up a bit and next time I started the bot it did work.

Guess problems had something to do with to little online time to get registered on a server.

just to have teh bot in the guild is not enough ...

workaround:
1) login with the botchar
2) write just one letter or word in the guildchat
3) logoff with the botchar
4) start the bot

it is necessary that the botchar is able to chat into the guildchat ... there is noh lvl-reg or anything else ... just be member of the guild an have been written just one letter or word in the guildchat

To add to what Driz posted, as with any new member to the guild you have to get connected to the guild chat either by zoneing /loggin in and out or type something in the guild channel. Sometimes I find that I cant even type in guild untill I have zoned or logged however.
