Server/Realm Mergers and Bebot AoC
« on: January 12, 2009, 02:31:44 pm »
Hi guys,

Just a quick check on the current build and the upcoming server merges. Will this go all smooth when it happens? Thinking then about guild members being forced to rename and similar, will the Users table automatically catch and rename members in the DB, will it automatically update the Alts table as well, and all the things I've not thought about?

Some information on that would be greatly appreciated :)

the user ID will probably handle most of it, cause the bot to think user have rerolled when names and ID dont match to DB anymore
howeva this can cause the bot to remove them so i will look into this

Thanks Temar for looking into that. I'm running a fully updated 6.1 and I'm not going to be online myself for some days so I'd prefer it was stable and working after the merge :) worst case I could take it offline for the days I am gone as I'm the only one that can admin it and it's running on my PC... eeeek :)

What about Server ID's?  Any idea if these are going to be what the previous server was or something different altogether...for example the US server I am on, Thog, is going to become Wiccana.  Wiccana has an ID already, think Funcom will be wise enough to just use the previous ports?  If not how long do you think it will be before you are able to update the server ID's?  I've tried to find this myself, but don't have the right software.

Thanks

It will probly not take long time.
I will try to help getting the ip/ports in EU if its not found before im back from work the day after merge.
And then its just to update the Serverlist.php

I've only got it partially working since the merge.  I figured out what the new ip is and changed it.  Unforunately, the bot is only responding to tells and not to guild chat.  Is there something else I need to change?  Perhaps this server ID you guys are discussing?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am on Cimmeria.  For those who need it, here's the new IP that's partially working for me:

Quote
         case "Cimmeria":
            $server = "208.82.194.6";
            $port = 7004;
            break;

You change that in bot.php.

Just an FYI that I figured out my problem with the bot responding in tells but not responding in guild chat.  Apparently, the actual bot character had its guild chat bugged and somehow got one of those dead guild channels.  I'm sure we've all seen this happen when a person leaves a guild and then rejoins another.

I was able to fix it by deguilding , logging in on the character, unsubscribing to the guild channel, relogging, rejoining the guild and then resubscribing to the guild channel.  I'm not sure if all those steps were really needed, but it did work.

$server_list['aoc']['Fury'] = array('server'=>'213.244.186.134', 'port'=>7003);
